Army Preparation Class of 2011

The programme is delivered in partnership with Independent Training Services, Connexions and Regular and Territorial Army.

The programme targets local young people aged 16-18 years who want to pursue a career in the Army. The programme prepares young people with basic literacy and numeracy skills and physical conditioning work all delivered here at Oakwell.  The aim of the programme is to prepare participants for A.D.S.C Army selection.The test is designed to assess their ability to quickly and accurately carry out set tasks including tests to establish a minimum physical fitness level.

    OSCAR WINS PENALTY SHOOT-OUT TOP PRIZE!

    Oscar Markey from Wilthorpe Primary School Infants, this week has won the top prize for raising almost £200 for his school. The Trust has recently delivered a sponsored penalty shoot-out where the pupils raise money for their school. Oscar won a Barnsley FC cap and football, 2 tickets to a Barnsley FC match of his choice and a Barnsley FC home shirt signed by all the first team players. The children at the school have raised over £3,000!! What a fantastic effort by everyone at the school!

    PRIMARY SCHOOL FOOTBALL LEAGUE INTO THE FIFTH WEEK!

    This week sees Worsbrough Common take on Burton Road and Joseph Locke take on Kings Oak in the 5th round of fixtures. The League table is very close with Burton Road and Dodworth St. John’s level on points at the top. The games have been very exciting with some fantastic players on show! Primary School Football League
